Vision: Vision of the Political Science department is to build a pool of energetic and vibrant students with integrity, honesty and nationality and equipped with the higher standard skills such as Analytical, Practical and Communication skills to achieve careers in Public, Private and Non Government Organisations.

3. Mission: To provide concept based learning with innovative teaching practices like use of ICT tools- PPTs, E- Resources, Video Lectures and Online Classes, Learning while doing, Interactive and Discussion methods.

4. Courses and Syllabus: Bachelor of Arts with History, Economics and Political Science. From 2021-22 Academic year, BA HEP course will be available only in English Medium as per Government recent policy.

5. Syllabus: Political Science with 8 papers in 6 semesters as designed by APSCHE and Rayalaseema University from time to time. (Syllabus: Rayalaseema University Syllabus w.e.f. 2020-21)

6. Programme Outcomes of B.A.:

Bachelor of Arts with History, Economics and Political Science course was started in the year 1987. BA HEP course is the first choice for students aspiring to prepare for a Government Job as it covers maximum syllabus for competitive exams like UPSC Civil Services and State Group 1 and Group 2, 3 Services.

BA programme gives students theoretical as well as practical knowledge as it involves the study of history of the land, administrative system and working of the economy in the country which requires a close observation of state, society and the market.

With the changes in the global economy students of BA are also able to grab jobs in the private sector if they learn some additional skills like Computer Applications and Communication Skills. Many students are getting placements even in the software industry with the help of courses such as Tally, Amazon Web Services etc.

7. Programme Specific Outcomes:

Political science is the art and science of governance. It has been a concern of intellectuals since the times of Plato. Political Science gives insights to the wide variety of areas like studies on state, constitution, administration, international relations, human rights etc. Study of Political Science empowers the students to understand the way the world works as it throws light on rights and duties of the citizens, government structure, public policies and law of the land etc.

Studying political science can prepare students to acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge as it gives exposure to the government, judicial system, society and media and so many other aspects which can help them shape their lives as well. It helps them acquire good analytical and communication skills.

Political science is one of the best choices for UPSC Civils aspirants as an optional subject. It is highly useful for Competitive exams like State PSCs, SSC, RRB exams.

Political Science graduates can also work in NGOs, Research Organizations and private sector, if they learn certain extra skills like Survey and Reporting, Computers Applications.
